NEWARK, Del.--Villanova sent a group of six athletes to compete at the Delaware Invitational, held at the Delaware Field House on Friday afternoon. The team was victorious in both of the events it had entries in, including the pole vault and the high jump.
Freshman Samantha Yeats (Califon, N.J.) came in first out of seven competitors with a jump of 1.65m meters in the high jump.
In the pole vault, senior Ashlyn Llerandi (Ridgewood, N.J.) led five Wildcats with a height of 3.70 meters. She came in first out of the 12 entries in the event and was followed by sophomore Kim Logoyda (Randolph, N.J.) in second place (3.50m).
Yeats competed in the pole vault for the first time on the season and reached a height of 2.90 meters to come in sixth place. Sophomore Sophie Bru (Daphene, Ala.) placed ninth and also cleared 2.90 meters, while freshman Allie Fazzio (Elmhurst, Ill.) wound up 10th with a leap of 2.75 meters.
