PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Freshman Jessica Swoboda (Hanover Township, Pa.) and senior goalkeeper Megan Goelz (Pennsbury, Pa.) have both been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after the Wildcats went 2-0 this week and have climbed to above .500 at 5-4 for the season. Villanova had a pair of 2-1 victories against Penn and Rutgers this past week.
For Swoboda, it is the third straight week that she has been named to the Honor Roll, and this is the fourth straight week that Villanova has had players named to the Weekly Honor Roll. Swoboda scored her team-leading fourth goal which was the game-winner at Penn and she assisted on both goals in the BIG EAST victory over Rutgers. Swoboda now leads the team in goals (5), assists (4), and points (14).
For Goelz, this is the first time she has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll this season and the eighth time in her career. She registered four saves in the win at Penn and six saves in the conference win against Rutgers. Goelz is 5-4 with 53 saves and a 3.28 GAA this year.
Villanova will look to continue its three-game winning streak on Wednesday night at Villanova Stadium against Rider.
