Wildcats Finish Up Competition at Widener Invitational

CHESTER, Pa. - Sophomore Jamie Klein (Hawthorne, N.J.) had the top result out of 25 competitors in the javelin at the Widener Invitational and Villanova wrapped up competition in the local meet at Leslie C. Quick, Jr. Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The final day of the meet included two sprints and two field events for the Wildcats.

Klein threw for a distance of 42.64 meters in the javelin to win the event, while freshman thrower Alita Ostapkovich (Bensalem, Pa.) came in third in the hammer with a throw of 36.76 meters.

Junior Mary Bohi (Shamong, N.J.) and sophomore Qualitra Brown (Suffolk, Va.) ran in the 400 meter hurdles and the 400 meters, respectively. Bohi came in 3rd in a field of 20 runners with a time of 1:03.77 and Brown placed fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 58.51.
