Oct. 13, 2014 VILLANOVA, Pa. - A pair of Villanova Wildcats were honored Monday by the Philadelphia Soccer Six for their work last week.
Senior center back Colton Bryant (Marietta, Ga.) anchored a defense that posted its third straight shutout in a 1-0 win at Stony Brook on Oct. 7 despite the absence of central defender Willis Griffith, who was sidelined after receiving his fifth yellow card of the campaign against DePaul on Oct. 4.
Bryant then scored the only Villanova goal in Saturday's 2-1 loss at Providence.
Senior forward Hayden Harr, who scored the game-winner at Stony Brook, is this week's Soccer Six Offensive Player of the Week. This marks the second consecutive week that Harr, a product of Parsippany, N.J., is the Soccer Six Rookie of the Week.
Villanova (6-5-1 overall, 1-2-0 BIG EAST) returns to action this Wednesday when it hosts Seton Hall at the Higgins Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. and the contest will be streamed on villanova.com via the Nova Nation All-Access Pass.
