  • Villanova extended its winning streak to six games with today's 35-31 victory. The win continues the Wildcats longest streak since a nine-game win streak to close the 2009 national championship season.
  • Villanova has won eight of the last 10 meetings against William & Mary and has been victorious in three of its last four trips to Zable Stadium dating back to the 2006 season. The Tribe lead the all-time series by a 16-15-1 margin, but Wildcats head coach Andy Talley is 13-11-1 in his career versus William & Mary.
  • Villanova is now 43-37 (.538) all-time in games between two ranked teams, including 2-0 this season. Earlier in the year, the Wildcats (then-ranked No. 10) defeated then-No. 11 Fordham by a 50-6 final score.
  • Junior quarterback John Robertson has led three career game-winning drives on the final Villanova possession of a game, with all three of those game-winning possessions coming in the final minute of play with the Wildcats trailing. This is the second straight year he has beaten William & Mary with a touchdown in the final minute of the game.

  • During the Wildcats six-game winning streak, John Robertson is 103-of-145 (71.0%) passing for 1,524 yards with 21 touchdowns and only one interception. His season passing stats are 119-of-172 (69.2%) for 1,723 yards with 22 touchdowns and just the one interception.
  • John Robertson had 330 yards of total offense in today's game and moved into fourth place in school history with 8,494 total yards. He passed Chris Whitney (2007-10) during the game and now trails Kirk Schulz (1986-89) in third place with 9,261 yards.
  • John Robertson also moved into fifth place in school history with 222 career points (37 career touchdowns) as a result of his two rushing touchdowns today. He moved up from eighth place and passed Adam James (2001-05, 211 points), Brian Finneran (1994-97, 216 points) and Joe Marcoux (2005-08, 221 points) during the game. Robertson trails Mark Hamilton (2010-13, 229 points) for fourth place in the Villanova record book.
  • Junior linebacker Don Cherry had a career-high 16 tackles in the win (nine solo tackles, seven assisted stops). Cherry has reached double figures in three straight games and four of his last five contests. The 16 total tackles are the most by a Villanova player since Allyn Bacchus also had 16 stops at James Madison on November 12, 2005.
