  • Villanova extended its winning streak to seven games with Saturday's 48-28 win over Morgan State. The victory continues the Wildcats longest win streak since a nine-game stretch to end the 2009 national championship season.
  • Villanova and the Bears were playing for the first time on the gridiron. The Wildcats are 3-0 against teams from the MEAC, with the previous wins coming against Norfolk State (2000) and Hampton (2003).
  • Villanova is 32-18 (.640) all-time in Homecoming Weekend games.
  • Villanova finished the game with a season-high 364 rushing yards. It is the third time this season that the Wildcats have run for at least 300 yards in a game. The 364 yards are the most in a game for Villanova since a 376-yard running performance against Old Dominion on October 13, 2012.
  • Senior running back Kevin Monangai ran for an 81-yard touchdown with 2:36 left in the third quarter to account for the Wildcats final points of the game. The 81-yard run was a career long for Monangai and also the longest play of any kind for Villanova this season. The last time the Wildcats had a longer play was on September 8, 2012 against Fordham when Joe Sarnese had an 85-yard kickoff return.
  • Kevin Monangai finished the game with 170 rushing yards on 16 carries. He tallied his 10th career 100-yard rushing game and his second such game this season. The 170 yards are the second-highest total of Monangai's career, trailing only his 192 yards at Maine on September 29, 2012. Monangai also had two rushing touchdowns in a game for the fifth time in his career and the second time this season.
  • Junior quarterback John Robertson had a season-long 56-yard touchdown run on the first Villanova play from scrimmage. It was the second-longest run of Robertson's career and his longest career scoring run. Robertson's career long run is 59 yards and came against Maine last season (October 26, 2013).
  • John Robertson was 13-of-18 for 143 yards and three touchdowns in the game. He has now thrown 25 touchdown passes with just one interception this season. In eight games, Robertson is 132-of-190 (69.5 percent) through the air.
  • John Robertson and Kevin Monangai each moved up one spot on the Villanova career rushing list, to second place and fourth, respectively. Robertson has 2,948 career rushing yards and Monangai has run for 2,640 yards.
  • Villanova Career Rushing Leaders
    Brian Westbrook (1997-01) 4,499 54 TDJohn Robertson (2011-present) 2,948 39 TDAaron Ball (2007-10) 2,916 25 TDKevin Monangai (2011-present) 2,640 25 TDVince Thompson (1975-78) 2,533 21 TD
  • Morgan State entered the game as one of just two FCS teams (along with Citadel) that had not thrown an interception all season. Villanova ended that streak by picking off Bears quarterback Moses Skillon three times in the game. The three interceptions by the Wildcats defense is a season high. Villanova registered three interceptions in a game on two occasions last season.
  • Senior nose guard Pat Williams blocked a Morgan State punt in the third quarter and recorded the first blocked kick of his career. It was also the first blocked kick of the season for the Villanova defense. Last year, the Wildcats had seven blocked kicks in 11 games, with the last of those coming in the season finale against Delaware.
  • Both teams were heavily penalized in the game. There were a combined 17 penalties totaling 158 yards in the contest, with the Wildcats being called for 11 penalties that added up to 95 yards. Morgan State was whistled for six penalties totaling 63 yards.
