Villanova head coach Andy Talley...

Opening statement: Morgan State is an interesting team. We watched a lot of tape of them. They gave Eastern Michigan a really good game, 31-28. And they've lost three games by less two points each. They could have easily been a 7-0 team, so we had a lot of respect for them but I just couldn't get a gauge on how good they were since we haven't played them. We haven't played a MEAC team in a while. I think coming off the William and Mary game, we had to play at a high level. In the first half, I don't think our players believed how good a team that Morgan State could be. Morgan State looked like a CAA team out there to me. They reminded me of James Madison. We preached at halftime to have poise. We have been down twice at half, both to JMU and William and Mary. And it's not a big deal. Put the penalties away and manage this game a little better in the third quarter. Just keep on tapping the rock. They couldn't stop us offensively. But we struggled with their short passing game. The turnovers were very big for us. We blocked the punt. We had two interceptions. We scored off all three of those and I think that really ended up being the difference in the game. We did give them a couple easy scores ourselves, off the punt that Poppy [Livers] fumbled. The game ended up how I expected it, but I didn't think they'd put 28 [points] on us. Coming off a tough grind with William and Mary, I can see it happening. But I'm happy to win, but what I'm more concerned about is that we have Pat [Williams] hurt. We have Gary Underwood out for a month. This is a crucial time for us as we come into the Richmond game; we really need to be as healthy as we can be.

Junior quarterback John Robertson...

On Villanova's approach to the game: Personally, I don't think I did. I knew they were going to be a big team, physically. They're a bunch of big dudes out there and I knew they were going to be able to play with us if we had a bunch of penalties, which was the case. Honestly, we were stopping ourselves in the first half with all our penalties. And if we're doing that, we just have a lack of focus and we're not all on the same page. In the second half, we got our heads on right and did what we knew we could do.

On the first Villanova play of the game: We scripted that actually. They were going to try and zero blitz us, just send everybody. So we had a check call [to the run]. Our coaches knew what was going to happen and it opened up perfectly.

Senior running back Kevin Monangai...

On the momentum of his running in the second half: Our offensive line is a bunch of talented guys. Once they get it going, it allows me and the other running backs to do what we need to do. I was just glad to be able to take advantage of their hard work.

On his 81-yard touchdown run: It was a trap play. The wide receivers did a great job of blocking down field. I cut behind Kevin Gulyas. Good point of attack blocking and the wide receivers doing what they needed to down field.

Senior nose guard Pat Williams...

On hos blocked punt: As a noseguard, I have one of the most important jobs on the team because I have to be unselfish. I take on that responsibility. I need to take on the center and maybe two guards at the same time, so that our linebackers can make plays. I promised out team that if the coaches ever called safe punt that I could go out there and get it. I was watching film on their punts all week and I knew exactly which guy to go to. So when I got the opportunity, I seized it. But what gave us the momentum was seeing the '89 and '09 champions in the endzone. That gave us a boost of confidence. It wasn't really the blocked punt. It was the togetherness that Coach Talley always preaches about.

Morgan State head coach Lee Hull...

Opening statement: We knew coming into this game that they were a very good football team. I said it before that they were the best team in the country. In saying that, I am proud of our guys and how they played. They played toe-to-toe for the first half. Came out in the second half a little flat. One thing about this team is that they don't quit and they kept fighting. So I'm proud of that; to stay in the game with a team like that. In my first year, we are still learning how to win games and they're still learning the systems, offense, defense, special teams. We played pretty well but we obviously can't have the turnovers if we want to be a good football team.
