Oct. 25, 2014 VILLANOVA, Pa. - Senior guard Darrun Hilliard and junior forward Daniel Ochefu sparked the White team to a 47-28 victory over the Blue squad in the annual Blue/White Scrimmage held here this evening at the Pavilion.
The two teams played 15 minute halves with a running clock until the final minute of each period.
Hilliard finished the evening with 13 points, three assists, three rebounds and zero turnovers in 30 minutes of action. Ochefu, meanwhile, converted 4-of-6 from the floor en route to 10 points and also led both teams with 12 rebounds. Freshman Mikal Bridges chipped in with nine points for the White team while junior guard Dylan Ennis also added nine points to go with four assists and four caroms.
On the Blue side freshman Phil Booth led the way with 10 points in 28 minutes of activity. Senior JayVaughn Pinkston contributed six points as did junior guard Ryan Arcidiacono.
The White outrebounded the Blue 29-19. The White squad connected on .417 of its field goal attempts while the Blue was 11-of-33 from the field (.333).
Villanova opens the exhibition portion of its schedule on Tuesday, Nov. 4, when it host Northwood at the Pavilion in a contest that will be televised nationally by Fox Sports 1. The event will feature a celebration of Northwood coach Rollie Massimino and his 1985 Villanova NCAA Championship team on the 30th anniversary of their amazing title.
