Villanova head coach Jay Wright's opening statement...
Good game for us. [Delaware has] two really good players hurt and they're also young. So it was not their full unit. Our guys came out and took care of business. I like our defense. I like how we're getting our inside-out game going. We still have a lot of improvement to make, but that's alright because we're winning games.

Jay Wright on Villanova's Darrun Hilliard getting back to playing well...
If he has one flaw, he's too nice. He's worried about everybody else and he wants to be a leader. He wants to take care of everybody. He wants to be perfect. I just told him yesterday; you're not supposed to be perfect. It's good to have him back. He's been doing a lot of other things; Bucknell, he came up with a big steal and played great defense, but it's good to have him back.

Jay Wright on Delaware's Cazmon Hayes 17-point performance... He's a scoring machine. That's the guy we thought that if somebody could go off to take the game over for them, it would be him. I thought we did a pretty good job on him. He's a big part of their offense. There will always be certain guys that you know are capable of going off, but you just can't stop them.

Jay Wright on Villanova's Daniel Ochefu putting in work to get where he is...
It started in high school; he was a hard working kid in high school, putting in extra work. That's what we loved about him. He wasn't a finished product in high school obviously, but we saw how much work he was putting in with his high school coach. There was a lot of other big guys we were looking at, but he was who we really wanted because of his work ethic. And since he has come to Villanova, it's been the same. He goes and gets extra work with [assistant coach] Baker Dunleavy and our assistants. Even when he has time off, he goes and works out. It's really nice when you see somebody do that and it pays off for them.

Jay Wright on Villanova's balanced scoring...
I was looking at it before the game and we only have one guy averaging double figures; everybody else is like 9.8. But there are basically five guys that are double-digit scorers. And we have eight guys that are capable double-digit scorers; it's pretty unique. That balance gives us a chance to be a good team.

Villanova senior Darrun Hilliard on finding a rhythm shooting and developing confidence...
I always have the confidence to shoot the ball, knowing that teammates and coaches have the same confidence in me. I took my time and like coach said, I found the right shots; took the right shots. I was in rhythm and it felt good.

Villanova junior Daniel Ochefu on putting in extra work...
It was a lot of work, but demanded of me in high school and as soon as I got to Villanova. It's easy to work hard because it's fun for me. Since I got to Villanova, I've made a lot of positive strides, offensively and defensively, and as a person as well.

Villanova's Daniel Ochefu on who taught him his hook shot...
Good question...since I got here, I've worked on it a lot with Baker Dunleavy.

Delaware head coach Monte Ross' opening statement...
They're good. Villanova is really, really good. I told Jay [Wright] after the game that not only are they talented and playing well, but they are playing very confidently. That is a good thing. That is a special thing when you are playing with a lot of confidence. When you expect good things to happen and you make good things happen. We've been averaging about 10 turnovers a game this season and they forced us into 17 turnovers; just because of their quickness, length, athleticism, all that, but also their tenacity. They are tenacious on defense. We've had an issue with making shots all year long. We have a lot of young guys; nine freshmen and sophomores. And I haven't quite gotten them to the point where they understand that making shots is an option. When I get that through to them, then they will be a lot better. They think they're supposed to miss every shot, and that's the way it's going to go. If I can just make them understand that it's an option. We were happy with the class of shot we were getting; they just weren't going in. We tell these guys to be confident, keep shooting the shots. We took two bad shots in the first half and that's what we have to stay away from. I'm just not used to being 0-5; it's therapeutic to talk to somebody.

Monte Ross on any silver linings in the game for Delaware...
At one point in the game I turned to the bench and said, we're playing the ranking of a number 12. [I don't know who] gave them the number 12 ranking because they are more like No. 4. Should be No. 4. I turned to [the bench] and I said these guys have 45 points and there is 15 minutes to go in the game; we're not playing bad defensively. What we wanted to do was force Villanova to make three-point shots because they are shooting 28% on the year. But low and behold, a good team, they made them. So the silver lining for us was we made them beat us with what was not their strength at the moment. And good teams have a way of doing that and that's what we did.
