2014 Legends Classic Official Release

PRINCETON, N.J.. - The official pairings for the 2014 Legends Classic were announced today by the Gazelle Group. Villanova will play four games in the event, beginning on Nov. 17 at the Pavilion and concluding on Nov. 25 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The four Villanova opponents are:

Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES): Nov. 17 at the Pavilion.

Bucknell: Nov. 20 at the Pavilion.

VCU: Nov. 24 at Barclays Center.

Michigan/Oregon: Nov. 25 at Barclays Center.

The championship round features Villanova meeting VCU for the first time at 7:00 p.m. in a battle that will air nationally on ESPN2. The consolation game of the championship round will begin at 7:30 p.m. (ESPNU) with the championship game to follow on ESPN2 at 10:00 p.m.. The four programs represented in the championship round have made a total of 84 NCAA Tournament appearances.

Start times and television information for the Regional Round at the Pavilion will be announced at a later date.

The Wildcats have never faced UMES and own a 15-8 advantage in the all-time series with Bucknell. The Wildcats and Bison last met in 2010 at the Pavilion with Villanova claiming a 68-52 victory.

The `Cats are 2-1 all-time against Michigan, with the last meeting taking place in 1985 en route to the NCAA Championship (a 59-55 VU triumph in Dayton, Ohio). Oregon and Villanova have met twice previously, with each team earning a win at home in 1971 and `74.
