Men's Basketball Quotes 11-18-15 vs Nebraska

Villanova head coach Jay Wright Opening Statement:

"Good start for us. Good experience for us. They're a tough, scrappy team. They came at us in the first half and took the lead. That was a good experience for us. Good experience for our guys to get down. That's a good, tough, scrappy team. They didn't quit. Nebraska didn't quit. They kept coming at us and we handled it so it was a good experience for us, a good win."

Wright on being expected to win and falling behind early:

I think that's something we've gotten used to over the years. We respect everybody. I think our guys know, and have learned, that anybody can beat you. That team was definately good enough to beat us if we're not playing well. I thought we played pretty well."

Wright on getting back into the game:

"When we took the lead, I thought there was a couple great plays by Mikal Bridges and Arch, getting steals, deflections, and we got out (in transition). We just weren't making shots. They were playing good defense. They're a good defensive team. We got some easy buckets then the threes started going. Arch and Mikal got us going and that got us some easy buckets."

Wright on what he said to team before big run to take the lead:

"It wasn't anything crazy. They were doing some things that we scouted and saw and we were letting them do it. (Andrew) White had a couple threes, they were beating us on drives, we were getting too extended so we just taked about that."

Wright on the play of Daniel Ochefu:

"I think when teams play us they know they have to guard the three, theyve got to guard pick-and-roll but when they know they have to deal with the big guy inside, that's another threat. If it was a closer game we would have went to him more but when you start getting pressed you don't have to as much. It's really valuable to have that."

Wright on when he realized Mikal Bridges would be good in his defense:

"The day he committed to us. When we recruited him we just saw those arms. If we get this guy he is going to be great at the top of out press. Josh (Hart) is just learning it this year and did a great job of that tonight but Mikal is just a natural. He's really good at it."

Daniel Ochefu on teams focus when falling behind early:

"That's a testament to out coaching. Arch and myself have saw that all four years we've been here. We've been in some great comeback games. It's our attitude that helps us do things like that and stay the course."

Ochefu on his added role offensively:

"It's not super important because at the end of the day defense and rebounding wins games but as a senior coach is looking for me a lot more in the post and in our offense. Trying to be more of a focal point, it's a responsibility I have to take on."

Josh Hart on the change from coming off the bench to starting:

"It's definately different. Last two years I came off the bench, I was able to see everything before I got put in it. It's definately different. Something I haven't been used to the last two years but its something coach is on me about and something I'm trying to get better at."
