Feb. 22, 2015 VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Wildcats are riding a four game winning streak after winning all four games in the Villanova Invitational. The wins bring their record to 4-6 on the season. It is the Wildcats' first four-game winning streak since March 24, 2012.
In the first game of the day Villanova faced off against Gannon and gained the victory by a score of 13-7. In the George Washington game, Villanova took the game 13-11.
Game 1: Villanova 13, Gannon 7
The Wildcats high scorer was Sheila Gerrity who tallied three scores.
Other `Cats with nice games included Callan Edwards who put the ball in the net twice, as well as Katy Gauvin, Lizzie Louwers, Dominique Clark, Katie Latimer, Sadie Dutcher and Naomi Ng all scoring one a piece.
Game 2: Villanova 13, George Washington 11
Sarina Shibata was the Wildcats leading scorer as she scored three of the 13 goals.
Sheila Gerrity, Callan Edwards and Naomi Ng all contributed two gaols on the day. Lizzie Louwers, Mary Riley and Lizzie Newman rounded out the Villanova goal scorers all with one.
Villanova trailed by a score of 6-4 at halftime and was able to outscore George Washington 9-5 in the second in order to gain the victory.
The team returns to the pool next weekend in the Cal Lutheran Invitational in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Where they play CSU Bakersfield, Azusa Pacific, Fresno Pacific, La Verne, Chapman University and Cal Lutheran.
