Pope, Seibel Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Feb. 23, 2015

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Villanova graduate student Remington Pope (Boston, Mass.) and freshman Danny Seibel (Wakefield, Mass.) have been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the second week of the season, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. The duo helped the Wildcats record their first win of the season with an 11-7 victory over Penn State last weekend.

Seibel led the Villanova offense with three goals in an 11-7 win over No. 17 Penn State on Saturday. It marked the second-straight contest that Seibel has led the Villanova offensive push in just his first two games with the Wildcats. For the season, the freshman attackman leads the team with six goals for six points.

Pope led the defensive effort with four ground balls and one caused turnover. His four ground balls matched a career-high for the short stick defensive midfielder while his six ground balls lead the team for the season.

Villanova returns to action with two games this week. The Wildcats will make the short trip to Philadelphia, Pa. to face Drexel at 3 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon before returning home to Villanova Stadium on Saturday, February 28th to host Delaware at 12 p.m.
