March 1, 2015 VILLANOVA, Pa. - In the third and final day the Wildcats grabbed their eighth victory of the season and have now won eight of their last nine games. Villanova won games over Chapman 9-5. Overall in the Cal Lutheran Invitational the Wildcats were 4-1.
Game 1: Villanova 9, Chapman 5
In the first game of the day, the Wildcats defeated the Chapman Panthers 9 to 5. The game was close at halftime when `Nova led 5 to 3. Then they relied on strong defense and some timely goals in the second half to seal the win.
The high scorer for the Wildcats were Dominique Clark and Naomi Ng; both scoring three times. Other goals came from Sarina Shibata, Lizzie Louwers and Sara Lynn Abele.
In goal for the Wildcats was Julie Conrath who gathered 13 saves.
The second game that was scheduled to be played against Cal Lutheran was called due to lightning. There is no make up date scheduled.
The Wildcats will next play against Occidental on March 3, starting at 4 p.m.
