NEW YORK, N.Y. - Villanova junior midfielder Jack Curran (Fair Haven, N.J.) has been named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. Graduate Student Remington Pope (Boston, Mass.) has also been named to the Weekly Honor Roll for the second straight week. Both laurels come after a 2-0 week for the Wildcats with wins over Drexel and Delaware.

Curran led the Villanova offense with five goals and three assists for eight points in wins over Drexel and Delaware. Against Drexel, Curran tied a career-high three goals and added one assist in the 14-11 win and followed that performance with two goals and two assists in a 10-4 victory over Delaware. For the season, Curran leads the team with 13 points. Additionally, he's tallied eight goals and five assists through four games and is tied for first on the team with five assists.

Pope led the Wildcats defensive effort with a team-high five ground balls and three caused turnovers in victories over Drexel and Delaware. His four ground balls and two caused turnovers against Delaware tied a career-high in both categories while his one ground ball and one caused turnover against Drexel helped the Wildcats improve to 3-1 on the season. For the year, Pope is tied for first on the team with 11 ground balls.

Villanova returns to action this Saturday when they face the Penn Quakers in Philadelphia, Pa. Game time is slated for 1 p.m. at Franklin Field.
