March 9, 2015 VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova freshmen Sean Cerrone (Huntington, N.Y.) and Luke Palmadesso (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) have been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the week of March 9th as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Both were major players in Villanova's 17-11 win over Penn last weekend as the Wildcats recorded their fourth-straight victory on the season.
Cerrone led the Villanova offense with seven points via two goals and five assists in the win over the Quakers, both of which were career-highs for the first year midfielder. For the season, Cerrone leads the team with 10 assists and is third on the team with 14 points.
Palmadesso was a also a major player in Villanova's win where he registered 19-of-31 (.613) wins from the faceoff X and grabbed 11 ground balls to help the Wildcats retain possession for the contests. His 19 faceoff wins and 11 ground balls were both career-highs. For the season Palmadesso leads the team with 15 ground balls.
Villanova returns home to the Main Line this week with two matchups. The Wildcats will host Lehigh on Tuesday, March 10th before welcoming the Maryland Terps on Saturday, March 14th. Game times are slated for 7 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
