June 30, 2015 VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova University head field hockey coach Joanie Milhous today announced the hiring of Kelly Driscoll as an assistant coach. In addition to her on field coaching duties, Driscoll will also serve as a recruiter for the Wildcat program.
Driscoll arrives at Villanova from Temple University where she was an assistant from 2011-14, including serving as the Associate Head Coach in 2014. In 2013, she helped the Owls to a 14-6 overall record, a Top 20 national ranking and a win over No. 6 Penn State. Last season, Temple tallied a 14-7 record, a Top 20 ranking throughout the season and a berth in the Big East Conference championship game.
As a player, Driscoll was a standout at Old Dominion University from 2006-09 where she was a two-time first team All-CAA honoree and two-time second team All-Region performer. She was selected to represent the U.S. in the NFHCA Division I Senior All-Star game in November, 2010, and was also on the roster for the U.S./Canada series and the U.S./Japan series in 2011. She was also a member of the USA Outdoor National Team from May 2010-June 2011 and represented the USA Indoor National Team from 2013-14.
Driscoll earned a bachelor's degree in 2010 from Old Dominion in criminal justice and sociology, before obtaining a master's degree in applied sociology from ODU in 2011. She earned a second master's degree from Temple in liberal arts in 2013.
