Villanvoa Head Coach Jay Wright

On the three point shooting game today: It was pretty good. If we pass the ball well, we get good shots. I thought early, we didn't take some good shots. I think some of it was St. Joe's defense early, they did a good job taking away the three. As we start breaking it down the defense and making extra passes, that's the thing that really contributed. Kris Jenkins has incredible talent at making shots, it's a great weapon.

On having experience being ranked number one is beneficial: I hope so, I really do. That first time, the first time of anything, you just don't know what to expect. I think if it happened, these seniors would know what it's all about. If it didn't happen, they also know that it's not a big deal. We did it and we lost it, so we've been in both spots.

On Josh Hart being one of the best players in the country: It would take me forever to talk about all the great things he does, but this gives me chance. He's just so complete in every way. He's the best competitor out there. Besides Kris, he's one of the best shooters, and finishers in the country. He's a great decision maker and has gotten better every year. He's also our best defensive player. The guy is so complete, I just believe he's going to be a great player at the next level, because of that. I think this guy is as complete of a player as there is in the country.

Captain Guard Josh Hart:

On if the number one ranking happens, if it's a problem to have: It's definitely a nice problem to have, but at the end of the day, we're not really worried about that. We were number one at one point last year, so we know that it's a possibility. At the end of the day I don't really think there's a crazy difference being ranked, one, two, three, or even twenty five this early in the year. That's something we'll let everyone know, but we need to get back to work. We have to get a lot better and it starts with tomorrow.

On having so many assists per games: I'm not sure what's gotten into me. I love seeing my teammates score. Over the last week or two, coach has told me to be more aggressive, probably the only time he's ever had to tell me that. My mindset today, I came in wanting to be aggressive, but when my teammates are open, I just want them to succeed.

Captain Forward Kris Jenkins:

On if the number one ranking does happen, how it'll impact him: We're focused on La Salle. Like Josh said, we're going to work tomorrow, all it means for us, is the opportunity to get better.

On Saint Joseph's coming out with energy and power: Whenever we come out, we want to start the game playing Villanova basketball. We want to set the tone, and they came out having a lot of energy. We were able to wear them out over the course of 40 minutes and we know that's what it's going to take. We're not always going to come out and jump on a team right away, but as long as we stick to our core plan and continue to grind it out for 40 minutes, that's what's going to give us the best chance.

On his three point shooting today: Josh was unbelievable in finding the right person and it all started with him. Everybody on our team can catch and shoot the ball or make a play. It all comes from my teammates, I just have the easy part of shooting.

Saint Joseph's Head Coach Phil Martelli

On what he noticed from Villanova this year: I think that the two-point shooting is the separation. Their two-point efficiency is what I feared in the game. To me, winning begets winning. Jay's (Wright) thing about attitude, well they have attitude, and only in the most positive of ways. They are champions. They're champions in the way they conduct themselves. They're champions in the way that they play. I ran into three of them last night at a Coaches vs. Cancer event at Lower Merion High School. They couldn't have been any more complimentary. My comment to them was winning is one thing, but the way you guys go about it, and the way that Jay has handled this, is a thing of beauty. It should be emulated by all organizations, not just teams, but organizations. Because that's the way you treat people.
