The Villanova women's lacrosse team dropped their Wednesday night road game to the Georgetown Hoyas by a final of 18-7.
Georgetown started off strong scoring the first two goals of the game, until Meghan Breen got the Wildcats on the board at the 16 minute mark of the first half on a pass from Jackie Froccaro to bring Villanova within one.
The Hoyas scored in the next minute of play but Kelsey Denihan scored her first goal of the game at the 13 minute mark with the assist credited to Chelsey Henderson to make the scored 3-2.
Georgetown closed out the first half on an 8-1 run with Villanova's only goal coming from Meghan Breen on a pass from Froccaro. At halftime the score was 11-3 Georgetown.
Villanova started out strong in the second half scoring three goals in the opening minutes. Devin Hassinger started the run off, followed by a goal from Froccaro, and ended on a successful free position shot by Henderson to make the score 11-6.
Unfortunately the rest of the rest of the half was all Georgetown; they scored seven of the final eight goals of the game. Villanova's last goal came at the eight minute mark on a pass from Caryle Maita to Henderson, who finished with four points.
Julia Michaels got the start in goal and play just over 42 minutes finishing with four saves, Jaclyn Fraum played the final minutes between the posts and had five saves for the Wildcats.
Villanova will return home to take on the Florida Gators on Saturday April 16th; game time is slated for 12 P.M.
