• Villanova scored its only points of the game on a three-yard fumble recovery by junior safety Rob Rolle (Newfield, N.J.). It was the first fumble return for a touchdown by the Wildcats since September 21, 2013 when Joe Sarnese had a 36-yard fumble return for a score against Stony Brook. The fumble recovery and the touchdown were the first of Rolle's career.
• Senior punter John Hinchen (Saddle River, N.J.) had a career day with nine punts for a total of 354 yards. Those were each career highs, as was Hinchen's total of six punts downed inside the opponent 20-yard line. Hinchen averaged 39.3 yards per punt, while his total of 354 yards was the most in a game by a Villanova punter since Adam James had 361 yards on 10 punts at Hofstra on November 8, 2003.
• Senior defensive lineman Tanoh Kpassagnon (Ambler, Pa.) blocked a 47-yard field goal attempt in the third quarter. It was the third career blocked kick for Kpassagnon and his first blocked field goal. He previously had blocked two extra point attempts.
• The last time the Wildcats blocked a field goal was at Towson on October 12, 2013 when Craig James blocked a 21-yard attempt.
• Sophomore linebacker Jeff Steeb (Sweetwater, N.J.) had a career-high eight tackles, while junior safety Rob Rolle (Newfield, N.J.) tied a career high with seven tackles. The seven total stops for senior safety Shayne Jones (Hillsborough, N.J.) were also a career high.
• Villanova received contributions from 11 first-year players in the game, including eight redshirt freshmen and three true freshmen who saw playing time.
