Villanova, Pa. -

Villanova Head Coach Jay Wright

Jay Wright:
It was a real good win for us against a very good Seton Hall team. It wasn't their night tonight. We know we have to see them again. They are much better than that. We were good tonight and it was nice to have our students back. It was a totally different atmosphere in there. I'm proud of the leadership from our seniors tonight.

Question: What was the message you sent to your team after the St. John's game?

JW: We didn't practice yesterday, we just watched film and talked to the seniors and they took care of it. We really fortunate to have three guys that are experienced and have been successful, but they are really humble. We look at the film and we tell and show them that St. John's played harder than us and they take care of it. We didn't practice because we felt that we were beat up a little bit. I thought we had good fresh legs tonight, but I also think the seniors set the tone.

Question: Jay, is there anything specifically about the team right now that you want to improve?

JW: Yes, our effort defensively and on the glass is not consistent every night. We have had some games where we have not played well defensively and Kris has hit six three's or and we have found a way to win. Against Butler, we didn't play well defensively and we lost. Donte bailed us out against St. John's. We are trying to be consistent and play like we played tonight, every night.

Senior forward Darryl Reynolds

Question: Darryl, what was the message that the seniors put out to the other guys before the game?

Darryl Reynolds: Just to set the tone against a great defensive Seton Hall team. They are great on the boards. They are an athletic team that likes to play up and down and we just had to set the tone on how we need to play. We tried to set an example for the younger guys to follow.

Seton Hall Head Coach Kevin Willard

Question: What do you think was responsible for the play of game today?

Kevin Willard: That's a tough team to play on one day. I mean, they are the number one team in the country for a reason. They've won 47 straight home games here and we've been on the road for the last two. We've had two tough battles and two tough losses. If you're not clicking, it's just not going to work.

Question: You mentioned it was eye opening for some of your guys to play Villanova, how much is it tied to Villanova's defense and effort throughout the game?

KW: If Josh Hart isn't the player of the year, there's something wrong with people. They should put a statue of him of what college basketball is. When you look at him, he came in as a freshman I thought he was a little bit of a wise guy, played kind of crazy. Then his sophomore year, I looked at him, and I thought he was really good and now last year, just holy cow, this kid has turned himself into an all-around good basketball player. Then he comes back for his senior year and look at what him all around and how hard he plays with every possession. Offensively and defensively, I'm just such big fans of him and Kris Jenkins and what they've done throughout their four years. They are two terrific young men for the game of college basketball.
