The Villanova women's tennis team (0-3) dropped their matches against Navy (7-7) on Saturday afternoon falling 6-1.
The Wildcats started off strong in the beginning of play going undefeated in all the doubles matches. Paulina Bajet and Linley Busby combined in the No. 2 doubles matches to finish first winning 6-2. Following their performance, competing in the No. 1 doubles slot was Kaylan Rotman and Lindsey Evans who won 6-3, clinching the doubles points for the Wildcats. Victoria Martinez and Carina Burdick competed in the No. 3 doubles winning 7-5.
Following doubles play, were the singles matches that the Wildcats were unable to come up with a point. Kaylan Rotman competed in the No. 1 singles and came up just short in her match points in the tie breaker. Carina Burdick also pushed a tie breaking match point in her single matches at the No. 6 slot.
The Wildcats continued play Sunday, Feb. 19 at Towson with the matches slated for 11:00 a.m.
