Junior attackman Christian Cuccinello was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office this afternoon.

Cuccinello, finished with a career high five goals against the Golden Eagles, and scored his final in overtime to give the Wildcats the win. Villanova defeated Marquette by a final of 10-9; this was the Wildcats first win over Marquette since the 2014 postseason.

Cuccinello got the Wildcats on the board with back-to-back goals in the first quarter, he netted another during a man-up opportunity in the second, and added one in the third to tie the game up at seven. His final goal came at the 1:31 mark of the first overtime when he ran in, drove, and scored to give Villanova their first BIG EAST win of the season.

Villanova will now travel to Denver to take on the Pioneers for their second conference game on the season. Faceoff in the Mile High City is set for 2 p.m. ET and can be seen on FS1.
