VILLANOVA, Pennsylvania- The Villanova women's water polo team and second year head coach Robert Mida have announced the team's 2018 schedule.

The Wildcats will play in three tournaments in Rhode Island, New Jersey, and California before opening Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play, as well as an exhibition match against China's national team.

Villanova opens the season on Saturday, Feb. 3 at the Brown Bruno Invite, hosted by Brown University in Providence, R.I., against Bucknell University and Hartwick College and then square off against host Brown on Feb. 4 to wrap up the tournament. The Wildcats are back in action two weeks later at another Ivy League school Princeton University where they will have an exhibition match against China's national team on Feb. 17 and then face Harvard University and host Princeton on Feb 18.

The month of March kicks off a week-long trip to California for the Wildcats where they will first compete in the Claremont Convergence hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripts Colleges on March 2 where they will face host Claremont-Mudd-Scripts and University of Redlands. The following day the tournament continues when Villanova wraps up tournament play against the University of La Verne and Cal-Baptist University on March 3. The following day the Wildcats will compete in a match against Whittier College in Whittier, Calif on March 5 then the next day head to Chapman University to face Chapman on March 6 to conclude the California trip.

Villanova opens up MAAC play at Siena College in Loudonville, NY when they play St. Francis Brooklyn and host Siena on March 10 then the following day on March 11 face Iona College to finish play. The Wildcats will then head to Iona College on March 24 to face Big Five rival La Salle as well as face Virginia Military Institute. The following day Villanova will wrap up play when they face Marist and Wagner on March 25.

The Wildcats head into April competing at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY where they will face Iona, and St. Francis on April 7 followed by Siena on April 8. Then Villanova returns home to the Villanova Swim Complex to host the Wildcat Invitational where they will face Wagner College and Marist on April 14.

Villanova will wrap up regular season play at La Salle where they will face VMI and host La Salle on April 15. The MAAC Championships will be hosted by Marist in Poughkeepsie, NY on April 28-29.
