CINCINNATI, Ohio-Villanova concluded their first BIG EAST road weekend at Xavier on Saturday afternoon. After strong doubles play, the Wildcats were unable to capture the victory and dropped the match, 5-2.

Lexi DeNucci and Kaylan Rotman earned a victory in doubles as they defeated Kyle/Reichenbach, 6-4. Claudia Althans and Paulina Bajet helped the wildcats clinch the doubles point as they defeated Butler in No. 3 spot, 7-5.

Competing in the No. 1 spot in singles, Lexi DeNucci was the only Wildcat to capture a win. She defeated Butler's Ahmeir Kyle in three sets, 2-6, 6-4, & 7-6(5). Lindsey competed in the No. 3 spot where she had a hard-fought battle but camp up short, 6-3 & 7-5.

Next, the Wildcats will return home to take on Bucknell. Action is slated to begin at 2:30 p.m.
