March 29, 2018 LANCASTER, Pa.- Weather in Villanova, Pa. prevented the Wildcats from hosting Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday afternoon as the match was moved to Franklin & Marshall's campus. In singles, Villanova was able to bounce back after the x captured the doubles point to win the match, 6-1.
Competition started with doubles play as Mike Czlonka and Tommy Mulflur had a hard-fought match in the No. 3 spot but couldn't come up with the win as they fell, 6-2. Tommy Dodson and Tyler Roth competed in the No. 1 spot for the Wildcats as they came up short to Rothman/Bellerseh as Franklin & Marshall clinched the doubles point.
In singles play, Stefan Suarez captured the first win for Villanova as he competed in the No. 1 spot and beat his opponent in two sets, 6-2 & 6-3. Roth came up with the victory in the No. 2 spot, 6-2 & 6-2. The winning continued in the No. 3 spot as Dylan Flanagan won his match against Franklin & Marshall's Zack Levin, 6-3 & 6-2. In the No. 4 spot, Mulflur was the lone Wildcat to take his opponent to three sets but was able to come out with the win 3-6, 6-2 & 6-0. Alastair Hurry was the last to compete for Villanova in No. 6 spot as he completed the sweep in singles with a 6-0 & 6-3 victory.
The Wildcats will return to action in Philadelphia, Pa. when they compete at Saint Joseph's on Thursday, Mar. 29. The match is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
