BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Villanova University men's tennis team competed at the Lehigh invitational this past weekend to begin their fall season.
Junior
Ethan Carr and freshman
Ethan Solop both had excellent weekends for the 'Cats, not dropping a single match over the weekend. In round three of singles, Villanova put together a dominant performance defeating Lafayette 7-2. Before that in round two Villanova and Lehigh tied at six with
Cooper Gordon,
Justin Frattarelli,
Ethan Carr,
Ethan Solop,
Cameron Kruep, and
Ryan Benoit all picked up victories for the Wildcats.
In doubles play, Villanova secured a 3-1 win over Lafayette in the first round. In the third round of doubles. The 'Cats picked up another victory, winning 4-2.
Thomas Wakefield and
Kush Anand secured a comfortable 6-3 win,
Quincy Jones and
Jack Sherner cruised to a 6-2 win. The duos of
Ethan Solop and
Cameron Kruep,
Ryan Benoit and
Evan Ancu both grabbed 6-3 wins.
