2017 NFHCA Academic Team Award

GILBERT, Ariz.-The National Field Hockey Coaches association announced their National Academic Team on Mar. 29 via press release. Fourteen wildcats found themselves tabbed for the honor. Seniors, Francesca Bello and Mackenzie Harding lead Villanova as they have received this honor all four years that they have been at Villanova.

Senior Catie Ward was also named to the squad as Juniors Allison Sayia and Erika Miller found themselves on the list. Emily Clarke, Caroline Coladonato, Emma McLaughlin, and Lydia Sydnor were the four sophomores that were tabbed for the award. Rounding out the list were the four freshman Lexi DiGennaro, Riley Dolan, Nikki Pearce, Ana Sherwood, and Ashley Thomas.

The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2017-18 academic year.

On Mar. 20, Villanova Field Hockey was awarded with the National Academic Team Award. This is awarded to programs that have earned a team GPA for 3.0 or higher.
