PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—On Sunday, the Villanova Women's Tennis team wrapped up play in the Saint Joseph's Invitational. Doubles team consisting of Burdick and Krogius earned a championship in the main draw while Rotman earned a singles championship.
Doubles matches resumed play today, as
Carina Burdick and Krogius competed in the championship round of flight two. The duo faced Villanova teammates Althans and
Paulina Bajet where they edged them 8-4 en route of their first main draw championship of the fall season. In Burdick's singles match, she lost to Drexel 6-2.
Althans was the first Wildcat to see action on Sunday as she competed in the championship round of flight one in the main draw. She faced Saint Joseph's and dropped the match 6-3, 6-2. In flight one of the consolation draw,
Lexi DeNucci faced off against Delaware as she came up short 6-3,6-2. Rounding out singles play in the Saint Joseph's Invitational was
Kaylan Rotman who earned her first championship of the season in flight three of the main draw.
Women's Tennis will return to Philadelphia, Pa. to compete in the Drexel Invitational beginning on Friday, Oct. 6 and concluding on Sunday, Oct. 8. This will be the last invitational for the fall slate.
