Last Year's Matchup
There was a lot at stake in last year's meeting between Villanova and Old Dominion. In the last regular season conference game of the season, whichever team won secured its place in the BIG EAST Tournament, where only four teams in the conference compete.
It was a hard-fought battle from the beginning, with Old Dominion scoring early and
Abby Siana scoring the equalizer.
Both teams ended regulation, overtime, and double overtime with one goal a piece and the game went into shootouts where Villanova was victorious, sending the Wildcats to its first BIG EAST Tournament since 2015.
