Villanova, Pa. – Villanova volleyball had three incoming players sign National Letters of Intent today to join the Wildcats roster as the class of 2024. The class features middle blockers Kiera Booth and Maddie Barber, and outside hitter Riley Homer.
"We think this is a really complete class that can help replace the class that is leaving us, which is a really talented one," Villanova head coach
Josh Steinbach said. "We have high expectations for this group. We are really excited about where the program is going, especially with the level of recruits we are bringing in."

Kiera Booth | Berlin, Pa. | Berlin Brothersvalley High School
Booth, from Berlin, PA, was named an AVCA all-America honorable mention earlier this month. She led her team to a PIAA Class A state runner-up, and her club team, the Revolution, to third at nationals in 2017. She had a stellar high school career, with over 2,000 career kills. Booth is talented on the basketball court as well, where she scored over 1,000 career points en route to a PIAA Class A state championship.
Booth has athleticism run in the family, her mother played volleyball at Fairmont State and her brother Cole is a wide receiver at Waynesburg.
"We expect good things from Kiera," Coach Steinbach said. "She's a versatile athlete that has a physical presence at the net as a blocker and she hits the ball hard on a number of different sets. I think she has the potential to be good on day one, and certainly we are hoping for that."

Riley Homer | Grand Rapids, Mich. | Forest Hills Northern High School
Homer, from Grand Rapids, Mich., is a four-time academic all-state student-athlete that will graduate in December and join the team at the beginning of the second semester this year. Homer was named all-conference four times, all-region three times and all-state during both her junior and senior years. During her decorated career, she recorded over 1,500 kills at outside hitter.
Homer also has athletes in the family. Her mother, Kathy, played volleyball at Ferris State. Her dad, Kenzie, played hockey at Ferris State and went on to play minor league hockey.
"Riley is a complete player already," Coach Steinbach said. "She can pass, attack, and is a great blocker. She will make our outside hitting position better right away. She's an outstanding student and will be graduating in December and join us this spring which should help her assimilate to the college game quickly."

Maddie Barber | Cedarburg, Wisc. | Cedarburg High School
Barber, a Cedarburg, Wisc. native, will join the Wildcats and help further bolster the front line. The 6'2" middle blocker tallied nearly 700 kills and over 200 blocks in high school. She was named first-team all-conference in 2018 and a team captain in 2019 at Cedarburg High School.
Barber brings a somewhat familiar name to Villanova. Her sister, Allie Barber, is an all-American outside hitter for Marquette. Allie is a senior this season, so the two won't get the opportunity to square off on a college court. Barber's brother, Matthew, is also an athlete, currently playing basketball at the University of St. Thomas.
"Maddie is a great fit for our program," Coach Steinbach said. "She's a fast-moving middle with a good arm. I think she be able to fit right in with the type of middles that we have had success with here over the years. She's played at a very high level that I expect will translate to the college game."
