The Wildcats will travel to Washington, D.C., on Thursday, Nov. 14, to take on the American University Eagles. Villanova enters play with an 0-2 record, while American is 0-1 on the young season.

Thursday night's game will be just the third all-time meeting between Villanova and American. It will also be the Wildcats first-ever visit to American. Villanova is 2-0 all-time versus the Eagles with the wins coming at Villanova in the 2008 WNIT and in a neutral site game at the Vermont Thanksgiving Tournament in 2018. Â

The Wildcats were led in last Saturday's game versus James Madison by senior forward
Mary Gedaka. In 39 minutes of action, Gedaka had a team-high 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field, including a 1-of-4 effort from three-point range and a perfect 5-of-5 from the foul line.

Redshirt freshman forward Maddy Siegrist has scored double figures in her first two collegiate games. After scoring a team-high 14 points in the season opener versus George Washington, Siegrist tallied 14 points in last Saturday's game against James Madison. She has also grabbed 14 rebounds in the first two games.

Villanova has received a strong contribution from its bench in the first two contests. In games versus George Washington and James Madison, the Wildcats bench has scored 40 of the team's 108 points (37%). Siegrist has been the team's top reserve scoring 28 points off the bench in the first two games.  Â
