NEW YORK – Redshirt freshman forward Maddy Siegrist (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) has been named the Big East Rookie of the Week for the second straight time and senior forward Mary Gedaka (Mullica Hill, N.J.) was named to the Big East Weekly Honor Roll, in addition to being named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week.
 
In two games last week, Siegrist averaged 18.0 points per game and 11.0 rebounds per contest, while shooting .515 from the field. Her best game of the week came against Manhattan when she tallied her first career double-double with 28 points and 14 rebounds to go along with four blocks. Her 28 points came on 13-of-22 shooting from the field.
 
Gedaka averaged 19.0 points per game, 4.5 assists per contest and 3.5 rebounds per game and shot 51.7 percent from the floor in wins over Manhattan and Georgia. In the Georgia victory, she recorded a game-high 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field and a 3-of-4 effort from three-point range.  
 
Winners of three in a row, Villanova will be off until Wednesday, Dec. 4, when the Wildcats play at Drexel. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
