Sydnor named to 2019 All-BIG EAST First Team

Nov. 7, 2019

New York, N.Y. – The BIG EAST released its regular season awards and All-Conference teams today.

Lydia Sydnor will represent Villanova on the 2019 All-BIG East First Team.

The senior from Bryn Mawr, Pa., was selected after a standout season. Sydnor started all 17 games for the Wildcats and lead the team with 36 points off 15 goals and six assists and tallied two defensive saves.

This season she also had three game winners.

This is the first All-BIG EAST First Team selection for Villanova since 2015, when then-sophomore forward Francesca Bello was selected as part of the conference team.

"Lydia had a tremendous presence on the field this year. She was constantly a threat in our attacking end. I am very happy for her as this is a great honor and perfect way for her to end her career," head coach Joanie Milhous said.

Sydnor was also one of 38 players in the country selected to play in the Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division I Senior Game on Nov. 22.
