NEW YORK, N.Y. – Women's lacrosse junior attack, Katie Comerford was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the second week in a row on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

Comerford helped lead her team to a 13-12 victory over Cornell (2/16), the team's first win over the Big Red in program history. The Preseason All-BIG EAST selection led the team with six points on four assists and two goals.

She scored back-to-back goals early in the first half to help cut Cornell's 4-1 lead to one. Shortly after, Comerford came up big again, assisting on back-to-back goals to help Villanova grab the lead.

The Wildcats never trailed again and kept the lead at all points until the Big Red tied the score at 10 eight minutes into the second half.

After two games, Comerford currently leads the Wildcats in points and assists. She has tallied 11 points, seven assists and has recorded four goals of her own.

Villanova returns to action this Saturday, Feb. 23 for a 4 p.m. matchup against Siena at the Villanova Stadium. The men's lacrosse team will play prior to the women for its home opener against Hofstra at 12 p.m.
