FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Villanova women's tennis team fell against St. John's 4-3 at the USTA National Tennis Center on Sunday night. The Wildcats dropped to 2-4 while the Red Storm improved to 5-3.
St. John's won the doubles court by winning on courts No. 1 and No. 3. Villanova's duo of Carina Burdick and Olivia Kapp won on court No. 2.
The Red Storm won the first singles match to lead 2-0 but Villanova rallied back to tie the match at 3-3.
The match was clinched for St. John's on court no. 4 as Inclan Solis defeated Alexandra Vesikallio in three sets.
Villanova's next match will be on Friday March 1st as they travel out west to take on University of California Irvine.
