VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Villanova women's tennis team defeated the Saint Joseph's Hawks 4-1 on a sunny Wednesday afternoon at the West Campus Courts. It was also senior day; the Wildcats honored their two seniors Lindsey Evans and Ellie Zimmerman.
The win improves the Wildcats to 10-8 and they have won seven of their last eight matches.
The Wildcats won on doubles courts one and two to secure the opening point. Lindsey Evans and Claudia Althans beat Nava and Gill-Reid, 6-2. On court two, Lexi DeNucci and Kaylan Rotman defeated Conrad and Hill, 7-5.
Villanova took courts two, three and four to clinch the match. All three matches were won in two sets. Evans and Kaylan Rotman both won their matches 6-3, 6-2. Carina Burdick easily won her match 6-0, 6-2.
Next up the Wildcats will travel to Omaha, Nebraska to take on Creighton on Friday April 12th at 6:00 p.m. Villanova will also take on DePaul while in Omaha on Saturday to conclude their 2019 regular season.
