PHILADELPHIA – The Villanova women's rowing team had a productive day at the Kerr Cup despite the tough weather conditions. Family, friends and supporters of the program came out to honor the Wildcats' six seniors: Kathryn Bitler, Ellen Cayer, Lindsay Dyrvik, Lizzie Hagerty, Clare O'Brien and Kayla Rubin.
Head coach Carissa Adams on the senior class, "These seniors hold a special place in my heart as we came in to Villanova University at the same time. They have been integral to helping me build and expand the culture of the team. This class has supported my vision and stand for the program philosophy of developing strong and confident women."
The Novice 8 won their final with a time of 7:31.40 finishing ahead of Army West Point and Lafayette.
The Varsity 8 came back in the grand final and was able to close the gap on Jefferson. The V8 finished third with a time of 7:07.68.
The Varsity 4 did a great job and finished fourth in a field of twelve other boats.
The JV8 had a strong showing and took third place. Second Varsity 4 came in third finishing ahead of Carnegie Mellon. The 3V8 finished in third.
Villanova returns to action next Saturday, April 27th at the Kelly Cup in Philadelphia.
