Wildcats Fall at BIG EAST Tournament Semifinals 4-2

CAYCE, S.C. – The No. 6 seed Villanova women's tennis team fell in the semifinals at the BIG EAST Tournament to the No. 2 seed DePaul Blue Demons 4-2. The Wildcats finished the season with a record of 11-11. The Wildcats won their opening round match yesterday against No. 3 Marquette 4-3.

The Blue Demons won the doubles point by winning on courts one 6-4 and on court two 6-3. 

In singles play, Carina Burdick won on court five 6-1, 6-4 to give the Wildcats their first point of the match and make it 2-1 DePaul.

The Blue Demons won on court four to give the DePaul a 3-1 lead.

Lindsey Evans defeated Kuzmenkova on court two 6-4, 6-4 to make it 3-2 DePaul.

The Blue Demons won on court two in three sets to clinch the match 4-2.
