VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova women's tennis team defeated the Georgetown Hoyas 6-1 on a sunny Sunday afternoon at the West Campus Courts. It is the Wildcats sixth win in a row and they improve to 9-7 (3-2) on the year.
The Wildcats dominated doubles play as they won all three matches decisively.
Claudia Althans and
Lindsey Evans won 6-3 from court one.
Lexi DeNucci and
Kaylan Rotman won on court two, 6-2.
Carina Burdick and
Olivia Kapp defeated Murphy and Moenster 6-4.
Villanova's dominance carried over into singles play as the Wildcats won five of the six singles matches including two three set matches. DeNucci defeated Moenster, 6-1, 1-6, 6-4 on court one and
Kaylan Rotman came back to beat Nakagawa 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 from court four.Â
The Wildcats will travel to Towson for their next match on Tuesday April 9th at 3:00 p.m.
Villanova's next home match is on Wednesday April 10th against St. Joseph's at 3:00 p.m.
