OMAHA, Neb. – The Villanova Wildcats fell 10-1 in game one at Creighton University on Thursday night. Six different Wildcats got a hit in the game. 

Jimmy Kingsbury got the start for Villanova. He pitched seven innings allowing seven hits, three runs, and three walks while striking out five. 

Creighton in the bottom of the third and fourth had the bases loaded and both times the Wildcats came out of the inning unscathed.

In the top of the fifth, Creighton had a runner on second with one out. Holton singled through the left side scoring the runner to give Creighton a 1-0 lead. The next batter singled scoring Holton from second.  Then with two outs and runner on second, Creighton doubled to center field to make it 3-0.

Nick Lorusso led off the top of the seventh by launching one over the left field wall to make it 3-1. It was Lorusso's fourth home run of the season. 

In the bottom of the seventh with the bases loaded, Creighton walked home the first run. The next batter singled through the left side, scoring two runners making it 6-1.

Creighton scored four runs on three hits in the bottom of the eighth to lead 10-1.

Game two of the series is Friday night with first pitch scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
