Lydia Sydnor was named the BIG EAST's Offensive Player of the Week. In Villanova's first game of the weekend on Friday against Wagner, Sydnor had four goals and an assist on freshman
Maggie Mick's goal.
Yesterday, against the University of Pennsylvania, the Bryn Mawr, Pa. native tallied another two goals and an assist, bringing her two-game total to 6 goals and 2 assists.
She now leads the NCAA in goals scored per game, averaging 1.75. Sydnor's nine-point performance against Wagner also leads the BIG EAST, as does her four goals.
Sydnor has almost equaled her team-leading 8 goals from last season with the 7 she has already scored.
Goalkeeper
Jordan McGinley was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll. The sophomore from Morristown, N.J., recorded two wins against Wagner and Penn, bringing her season record to 3-1. McGinley made a combined 10 saves and allowed five goals between the two games this weekend.
