Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. - Villanova fell in its first BIG EAST matchup of the season to Georgetown 3-2 on the road in Washington D.C.
The Hoyas started its scoring early with two goals in the first 3 minutes of the game.
After the two quick goals, Villanova tightened up its defense and didn't allow any more scoring from Georgetown for the remainder of the first half.
Senior forward
Abby Siana cut the Georgetown lead in half with a goal with 5 minutes left in the first half. Georgetown pulled away again, going up 3-1 early in the third quarter after a goal from Hoya Cami Osborne.
Emily Clarke got the Wildcats closer, scoring with 7:47 left in the fourth quarter and it a 3-2 game. Although Villanova got a few opportunities in the last few minutes of the game, Georgetown was able to keep the Wildcats off the board for the remainder of the game.
The Wildcats now drop to 3-2 on the season and 0-1 in the BIG EAST.
