Wildcats Ready For Matchup on the Road Against No. 13 Liberty

After two close losses in a row, Villanova (3-3, 0-1)  is looking to get back in the win column.

On Friday, the team travels to Lynchburg, Virginia, for a 4 p.m. matchup against BIG EAST rival No. 13 Liberty University.

Despite being on the losing end of games against Georgetown and Rider, the Wildcats have had plenty of scoring opportunities.

Through its first six games, Villanova has earned 62 penalty corners compared to its opponent's combined 39.

Versus Rider on Sept. 22, the Wildcats outshot the Broncs 38 to 4, including 14 shots on goal.

Villanova also leads the BIG EAST in goals scored per game, having already recorded 22 goals this season.

Scouting Liberty:

Despite its strong offense, the Wildcats will have its hands full on the road against the Flames.

The teams met for the first time in 2012 and have played four times overall.

Liberty has a 4-0 record against the Wildcats.

Villanova was shutout by the Flames the last two years and have been held to only 2 goals overall in the series.

Liberty leads the BIG EAST in goals against average, only allowing an average of .67 per game, a conference low.

That's a streak the Wildcats are hoping to break on Friday.

Liberty (5-1, 1-0) has recorded wins over James Madison, Richmond, Lafayette, Yale and Temple.

The Flames are led offensively by Daniella Rhodes who has five goals and five assists this season.
