NEW YORK – For the seventh time this year, Villanova redshirt freshman Maddy Siegrist (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) has been named the Big East Rookie of the Week. In two games this past weekend, she averaged 17.0 points per game and 13.5 rebounds per contest.
 
After tallying 11 points and 11 rebounds in a loss versus Butler on Friday, Jan. 10, Siegrist helped lead the Wildcats to a win over Xavier on Sunday, Jan. 12, with 23 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. The 23 points came on 10-of-19 shooting.
 
Siegrist currently leads the BIG EAST Conference in scoring at 20.1 points per game and she ranks second in the conference in rebounding at 9.3 rebounds per contest. She also leads the league in double-doubles with seven.
 
Villanova returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 15, when the Penn Quakers visit the Finneran Pavilion. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
