Maddy Siegrist (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week for the 10
th time this season tying the record for most league Rookie of the Week honors. Connecticut's Maya Moore (2007-08) and Georgetown's Natalie Butler (2013-14) earned 10 rookie certificates during their BIG EAST careers.
In two games last weekend, Siegirst averaged 21.0 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per contest, while shooting over 41 percent from the floor. She tallied 21 points in both games against Xavier and Butler. Siegrist currently leads the conference in scoring for overall games at 20.2 points per contest.
Gedaka tallied back-to-back double-doubles in the two road games. After her 11 point, 11 rebound performance at Xavier, she recorded 21 points and 13 rebounds at Butler. For the year, she is averaging 17.4 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per contest.
Villanova returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 16, with a game at Georgetown. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. The Wildcats are currently 13-11 overall and 7-6 in BIG EAST play.
