NEW YORK – Sophomore goalkeeper Alexa Moro was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week after an impressive outing in Villanova's 12-9 win over No. 16 Navy on Saturday.
Moro recorded a season-high 12 saves against the Midshipmen, holding one of the country's top attacking teams to just nine goals. She had a .571 save percentage on 32 shots faced.
Navy had not been held to a single-digit score since May 4, 2019.
This is the first honor of the season for Moro, who was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week four times and Defender of the Week once in her rookie campaign.
