NEW YORK – The Villanova Wildcats finished the 2019-20 regular season with a 17-12 overall record and an 11-7 BIG EAST Conference mark which was good enough for a five-way tie in the final league standings.
Due to the tie breaking procedure that was used by the conference office, Villanova will be the seven seed in the upcoming BIG EAST Tournament to be held at Winstrust Arena in Chicago, Ill., from March 6-9.
Villanova will take on No. 10 seed Xavier on Friday, March 6, at 2:30 p.m., eastern time. The Wildcats swept the season series against the Musketeers winning 66-54 at Villanova on Jan. 12 and 55-54 on Feb. 7 in a game played in Cincinnati.
The winner of the Villanova/Xavier game will advance to the quarterfinal round on Saturday, March 7, to take on No. 2 seed Marquette at 7 p.m. eastern time.
