Head coach Joanie Milhous and her staff announced the signing of incoming freshman Sabine de Ruijter. 

de Ruijter is a defender from Huizen, a city in The Netherlands, about 21 miles from the capital city of Amsterdam.

She attended high school at Goois Lyceum in Bussum. 

de Ruijter is Villanova's first signing from The Netherlands since Julia Noorduyn, who came from Holland, was part of the 2005 signing class.

"We couldn't be more thrilled to have Sabine join our talented incoming class," Milhous said. "It's an exciting time as we envision the future of our program."

de Ruijter joins rising sophomore Caitlin van Goeverden, a Newton Park, South Africa, native, as the only two international student athletes on Villanova's 2020 roster.
