NEW YORK — Villanova field hockey graduate student Ava Borkowski has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced on Tuesday. It is Borkowski's second career nomination to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. 

The honor marks the second BIG EAST award received by Borkowski this season. She was named BIG EAST Preseason Offensive Player of the Year this offseason following her 2025 season where led VU in goals (nine) and points (18) to go along with a .676 shot on goal percentage. 

The graduate student continued to be a focal point offensively for Villanova over the weekend, leading to a 2-0 record with wins over Queens University of Charlotte and Lehigh. In the action on Friday, Borkowski picked up her third career hat trick while tallying four goals to set a new career high for most goals in a single game. The forward tallied a .667 shot percentage on six shots, all being on goal. 

Borkowski's eight points helped the 'Cats collect the 9-0 win on Friday and the 2-0 win over Lehigh on Sunday to push the team's record to 5-1 overall. The record puts them tied for first place in the BIG EAST Standings with Providence. 

Borkowski and the Wildcats are back in action on Friday, September 18, in the BIG EAST opener against Uconn at George J. Sherman Family-Sports Complex at 3 p.m.
